Noticeboard

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the death of our colleague Dr Ryan Hamilton. This was a sudden, unexpected event and we are all devastated and in shock. We would appreciate your consideration and sensitivity when dealing with all practice staff, as we try to process our grief. Thank you.

Appointments

diary_appointmentTelephone First: Currently we are operating a phone first system. Our call times are 8.30am and 2pm each day or alternatively you can call at anytime and ask for a pre booked call with a doctor.

  • You will be asked for a brief reason for your call so that the doctor can triage the call list.
  • If the Doctor feels it is necessary they will book an appointment for you to attend face to face.
  • Emergencies: Will be dealt with as they arise.
  • We are experiencing a high volume of calls at present and appreciate your patience. Our staff are working tirelessly to answer and direct your calls as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Please note, an appointment is for one person only – where another member of the family needs to be seen, another appointment should be made and the medical record made available.

Practice Policy for the removal of patients who Do Not Attend (DNA).

The practice adheres to the guidelines published by the GMC regarding removal of patients from the practice list.

Patients are advised upon joining the practice that we consider Do Not Attends to be wasteful of our appointments in that it prevents other patients from assessing medical attention in a timely way.

Repeatedly booking and missing appointments without cancelling is inconsiderate to other patients and disruptive to the practice, directly affecting the quality of service we can provide to other patients.

The practice considers multiple DNAs to be a justifiable reason to remove patients from the Practice List in line with GMC guidelines as it determines that frequent DNAs results in a breakdown of trust necessary to maintain the Patient/Doctor Relationship.

Referrals

Urgent referrals to other health and social care agencies will be made within 1 working day of the patient consultation.  We will normally process non-urgent referrals within 5 working days of the patient consultation or the doctor’s decision to refer.

Medical Students

Occasionally medical students are attached to the practice for training.  Patients will be asked if they consent to the student being present during their consultation.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
